Now I know how the birds must feel.

Clark has been doing a great job keeping up on our blog-a pasttime I had long given up. However, looks like things will be turning around...
I've been ordered on bedrest for the next 5 weeks! We are talking laying down IN BED alllll day long bedrest. So with Clark's trusty old laptop by the side of my bed, I think I'll attempt to reconnect with blogger.
No need for worry, the baby and I are just fine as of right now. I have been diagnosed as preterm labor and have been progressing at a rapid pace. So to keep the baby inside as long as possible, I have to move as little as possible. I'm 31 weeks along right now, and our goal is to make it to 36 weeks- 5 weeks of bedrest will not be the end of the world. It is awfully boring though.
I'm accepting visitors at all times of the day, I'm a good listener, and if anyone needs anything researched on the computer- let me do it. Please. Plus if anyone has good movie or book recommendations let me know!
So to all those birds out there who have to sit on their eggs for weeks on end... I totally feel ya.

POOR THING!! I so can empathize... i was on bedrest with ellie starting at 18 weeks. The good news is that it works. I delievered ELlie at 38 weeks. Join a great online moms group (babyfit.com was mine), watch netflix movies online from home, cross stitch, scrapbook, read books, etc. It will fly by once you get used to it. We will pray for you! Let me know if you need ANYTHING!!!!!

Sorry about this! I can come get Beck for sure! Here is a task if you're bored-you've seen our place-I'm looking for a good couch-lots of seating-not bulky-a sandy brown color! :) Maybe you'll have better luck than me...or just watch movies, read and there is always mario cart right?

Natalie, it's so nice to see you blogging again! I have also felt the pain of bed rest boredom, but it worked for me too, so hang in there! I would love to play settlers online with you. I'm going to give you a call tomorrow during Sam's nap and see if you are up for the challenge. I would also highly suggest naps. Naps and movies got me through an incredible amount of time. Oh and have you read Life of Pi? It is a little slower paced but I LOVED it, I could hardly put it down. Love you!

The netflix suggestion was spot on. They bring the movies to you, so you don't have to get up, Clark can bring them to you! Plus they have a three week free trial, which we just took advantage of. Here are a few recommendations of good movies for bedrest -

Lars and the Real Girl
Sabrina
The Apartment
Joe vs. the Volcano
Rear Window (Jimmy Stewart is on bedrest too!)
Groundhog Day

And 1776 is a sweet book.

Sucky sucky. I was on bedrest for 3 weeks with Hallie and it was awful. Your body starts to hurt from laying ALL the time. But I watched A LOT of baby story on TLC and managed to sufficently freak myself out for the upcoming birth. I also watch the biggest loser a lot for some reason and felt bad for myself when all the really big people would weigh in and I would realize that I weighed almost as much as they did! So I guess what I'm trying to say is.... don't watch those two shows. :) I hope everything is ok Natalie! We're coming for a visit in March for Kelly's wedding and I'd love to see you if you're up for it.

Nat, I'm so sorry you're on bed rest! I had to go through that for a little bit too, so I know how you feel...but you're such a good mama for keeping that baby girl safe! We'll be praying for you guys :-)

Nat (and baby girl),

So sad you're stuck in bed all day. Nora and I want to come visit you one of these days. We're both sick with colds, though, (and I'm sure you don't want to add that to your list of ailments) so I'll stay away until that has cleared up.

I've been meaning to update my blog forever and now maybe I will so people won't think I totally disappeared. I hope you are feeling better and hope that everything is fine.
